We wish Gov Darius Ishaku is our governor, says Bauchi APC youth

Several youths who claimed to be members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bauchi State on Sunday stormed the Northeast zonal secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi, chanting solidarity songs for Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku.

The governor was in Bauchi to be screened alongside other PDP aspirants ahead of the party’s governorship primary elections.

Governor Darius’ arrival was greeted by a security scare as hundreds of youths forced their way into the zonal secretariat. This scare however gave way to relief as the youths said they, even though of APC, came to catch a glimpse of the governor they said had outperformed his peers.

“We have come to see the governor who is really hard working for his state” they charged in Hausa, even as security operatives fought hard to control the crowd.

Some of the APC youths who spoke with reporters said that they were impressed with Governor Darius’ performance in office, saying they wished Taraba State loaned him to Bauchi.

“Look at Bauchi State. Nothing is happening here. We just love the way Governor Ishaku. has been performing for the people of Taraba. That is how a good leader leads,” said Mohammed Garba, who claimed to be an APC youth leader in his Bauchi ward.

Governor Darius was accompanied by Senator Shuaibu Lau, Hon Mark Useni, Ishaika Bawa, member representing Wukari constituency, Hon. Josiah, Special Adviser on Political matters Alhaji Bawa and Commissioner of health, Dr. Vakkai.
Also on the governor’s entourage was Commissioner of Environment, Rebecca Mannaseh, Chairman of ALGON, Stephen Agya and other top state officials. Women and youth groups were also in attendance.
