Retiring Akume from Politics is my greatest achievement, says Gov Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has thump- up his fingers that the defeat of the senator representing Benue North West at the National Assembly, George Akume, during the 23rd February 2019 general election which he said marks his political retirement is one of the greatest achievements his administration could record in recent times.

The governor who spoke in Makurdi stated that the era of God fatherism, which has negative effect on the administration is now a thing of the past in the State, adding that he has realized and fulfilled his earlier promise to send Senator Akume into political oblivion.

“Benue people have used their voices to stop the era of God fatherism in the state,” he said

He noted that with the elections of three PDP senators who will be working in collaboration with him, much will be achieved in his second coming and hoped that he will emerge victorious at the March 9, 2019 governorship polls with majority of PDP member House of Assembly in the state.

Responding to question, Governor Ortom stated that there is no more huddle over his second term bid.

“God told me He is the begining and end, the first and last, the Alpha and Omega and that I should go ahead and complete my second tenure of office’’.

He urged Benue people to remain steadfast and go out in their numbers to vote for all PDP candidates in the coming Saturday’s polls so as to benefit from dividends of democracy.
